Honoring Heroic N.J. Nurses in the Pandemic: Joanie Zanotti

 In Nurses Weekly

Joanie Zanotti, MSN, BS, RN, CEN, EMT-NJ, NJSNA Region 2 member, has been working 50-plus hours a week in the ED and Incident Command Center at her hospital where, sadly, they lost one of their ED nurses after she had been intubated for two weeks.

Joanie is proud of the ED crew for providing excellent care to patients, knowing what the cost could be.

“In these uncertain times with more questions than answers we are relying on each other more than ever before. It’s like throwing a puzzle in the air and all the pieces fall on the floor. I’m certain we will be able to put the puzzle back together, but the pieces will not go back together in the same way and it will never look the same again,” she said.
