SMILE

In Mental Health Wellness and Stress

Dear Healthy Nurse friends,

The message for this week, during the August Happiness month, is very simple – SMILE

Try to smile 3 additional times today and every day to spread joy and happiness.

One more thing – Listen to Happy by Pharrell Williams –  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y6Sxv-sUYtM

(Because I’m happy)

Clap along if you feel like a room without a roof

(Because I’m happy)

Clap along if you feel like happiness is the truth

(Because I’m happy)

Clap along if you know what happiness is to you

(Because I’m happy)

Clap along if you feel like that’s what you wanna do

Wishing you a day filled with joy and happiness!

Sue Weaver, Sandy Foley, Kate Gillespie, Angelica Silwanes and the Healthy Nurse, Nation-NJ TeamGreetings on Be Happy Friday!

How are you finding happiness this month?

Happiness may be spending time with a best friend or journeying to your happy place or laughing.

Remember:

Laughter reduces stress, boosts the immune system, and is good for the heart.

Using humor to have fun at work builds a sense of community within the team.

Here is something to make you chuckle:

The nurse brought a lunch tray to Norman Cousins, who was in a hospital “laughing his way to wellness.” The nurse also brought Mr. Cousins one of those glasses used for urine specimens, saying that when convenient, he should put a specimen in the glass and she’d pick it up when she came back to pick up the tray. Mr. Cousins, seeing some apple juice on the tray, put two and two together, and poured the juice in the specimen glass. The nurse came back and picked up the specimen, held it up to the light and said, “Mr. Cousins, this looks a little off. The color doesn’t seem quite right. Are you feeling okay?” Mr. Cousins reached out his hand for the glass and said, “Here, let me look.” After looking at it, he said, “Okay, I’ll run it through again,” then drank it. The nurse fainted.

A RECIPE –  I love spaghetti squash especially now during harvest time. Try this recipe it’s easy nutritious and healthy.
