In the Spotlight: Margarita Laquindanum

 In Nurses Weekly

Margarita was there from day one during our pandemic, helping to identify the symptoms of our first victims to COVID. She quickly put her fears aside and worked on saving our residents lives. She never skipped a beat, stayed focused and remained loyal to her calling.

As a single parent, a director of nursing, caretaker of a parent and leader to a department of 140 team members she was resilient, focused, calm and determined. She advocated for her patients, for her team while asking nothing for herself.

Even today, Margarita works relentlessly trying to rebuild a new normal in our community. One that will keep our residents safer, staff empowered, all with the hopes that her son continues to believe in the power of helping those in need. Margarita is one of the most selfless people I know.

Hackensack Meridian Health Nursing and Rehab would like to express our deepest gratitude for her leadership and hard work during one of the most trying events of our lifetime.

Thank you Margarita for everything that you do!
