IMPORTANT COVID-19 UPDATE

 In Nurses Weekly

I continue to hear stories across New Jersey, both sad and promising. Communities are coming together to celebrate the health care providers with parades of first responders saluting our nurses. Nurses’ compassion and dedication are truly being recognized. I applaud you on your dedication to care for our patients and want to let you know that we will continue to support you by  providing updated COVID-19 information and advocating our message to the state legislators.

Below you will find some information we are sharing that is relevant and helpful:

  • COVID-19 Fundraiser: NJSNA Past President Benjamin Evans has challenged everyone, both members and non-members, to donate $36.50 (10 cents/day) to the Institute for Nursing (IFN). Donations will be used to assist New Jersey nurses adversely affected by the coronavirus pandemic. The IFN will donate any money received to Nurses House, a nonprofit group that raises money for nurses in financial need. The American Nurses Foundation is also supporting this initiative and taking donations on a national basis.

Thank you for your support

  • The Healthy Nurse Healthy New Jersey Team continues to hold “Moral Support” Zoom meetings at 7 p.m. on Wednesdays. Dr. Tom Barrett really helps us put things into perspective, telling us to accept what we cannot do…and practice self-compassion (getting rid of the guilt). Please visit the Healthy Nurse Healthy New Jersey webpage and our private Facebook page New Jersey State Nurses Healthy Nurse.

  • Check out the Healthy You 2020 webinar on self-care. You can receive CEs after completing the webinar and filling out the evaluation.

Remember to frequently visit NJSNA.org and the New Jersey Board of Nursing wepage. Both provide important updates on COVID-19.

We are here to support you! Let us know what more we can do!

God Bless you and your family.
