S2996/A4052 - APN – Full Practice Authority Bill

  • Eliminates certain practice restrictions for advanced practice nurses. Allow full practice authority for advanced practice nurses. Currently, 27 states, the District of Columbia, and two U.S. territories have adopted full practice authority for advanced practice nurses.
    • S2996, has officially been moved to the Senate Judiciary Committee and A4052 was moved to the Assembly Appropriations Committee. The Senate and Assembly bills were reassigned to different committees intended to help us stay on track with legislative timelines ahead of the budget cycle. 

S3022/A1974- Patient Protection and Safe Staffing Act

  • Establishes minimum registered professional nurse staffing standards for hospitals and ambulatory surgery facilities and certain DHS facilities.
    • 2/12/2024 - Introduced in the Senate, Referred to Senate Health, Human Services and Senior Citizens Committee
